Environmental Monitoring

Carbon MonOxide (CO)

The leading cause of accidental poisoning deaths in North America, Carbon Monoxide (CO) is odorless, tasteless and invisible – it’s a silent killer. The only safe way to know if carbon monoxide is present is to install carbon monoxide detectors (alarms) on every level of your home and in sleeping areas.  Carbon monoxide detectors trigger an alarm based on an accumulation of carbon monoxide over time. Detectors may be based on a chemical reaction causing a color change, an electrochemical reaction that produces current to trigger an alarm, or a semiconductor sensor that changes its electrical resistance in the presence of CO.

Propane and Natural Gas

Propane detectors are special equipment that is designed to sound an alarm if they sense the presence of propane in the air. The operation of the propane gas detector does not depend on the concentration of the propane odorant in the air, just the propane at the detector. If you use propane consider installing one or more propane gas detectors in your home. This is especially important if you or others in your home might have difficulty smelling the propane, or if there are appliances in little-used areas in your home where the smell of the propane might not be detected quickly. Propane Gas Detectors can provide an additional measure of safety and security in your home and they are inexpensive.

High and Low Temperature Monitoring

Low temperature detectors alert you to an environment that might cause damage to sensitive equipment or lead to frozen or broken pipes. To effectively reduce damage, we must be able to contact you or someone with keys to investigate and quickly resolve the problem. If you may be out of touch and don’t have a reliable key holder to respond, you may wish to contact your fuel provider for twenty-four hour service program or perhaps ask a neighbor to hold a key on premise as a back-up. Where there is plumbing inside bathroom and kitchen cabinets, leave the doors open to aid in the circulation of warm air. If there is a convenient cut off point, consider shutting off household water or well pump to prevent damage in the event of a leak.

Flood Detection & Monitoring

Water detectors are designed to allow water or any conductive non-flammable liquid to be detected with low voltage and low current. Ideal for basements, laundry rooms and kitchen, near water heaters or sump pump, any location where flooding is a possibility and early warning is desirable to prevent water damage and avoid expensive repairs. A leaky pipe or overflowing sump can cause a lot of damage in just a few hours. But with the ASP, you’ll receive a phone call warning you of the leak before the leak becomes a disaster!
